Working with Claire - Peri Plum

We have worked with Claire for the past 3 weeks on using transmedia in performance and how it can aid a performance.

We did a number of excercises using types of technology such as texting and video.

One of the first excercises we did was one were we were split into three groups and each group had to send one other group a text which consited of one word (an emotion/feeling). So once my group recieved a text we had to show that emotion to the group we didnt get the text off. After we played around with that for a while, we moved on to something more complex. In which each group had to go off around freshers fair and set a trail for the other groups to follow, but to get the other groups to a specific point we had to text them a place in which they had to go to, but change the context of what they were going to see, for example, my group sent the others to the inflatable basketball hoops, where people were just having fun and shooting some hoops, but the text we sent to the others said "get to the basket ball hoops, big game, cheer for Derek" which put a different spin on what was being seen.

Another excercise we worked on is one in which we were split into pairs, I was put with Brittany, and we were given an iphone from Claire and we had to go off and film a 30 second scene about what ever we wanted to, once we filmed we were then told to come up with a little live performace to go alongside the short film  however they had to mess with the audiences mind, what I mean by this is that either the film or the live performance had to give a different meaning to what the other was saying but still relate together.  Peri Plum
